It's death match rotating the KPDM1-5 maps.

Once installed you'll need the v1.21 patch from here.

Just unzip the file to your Kingpin/gamespy folder overwriting the original file.
That's all you need unless you want to install Monkey Harris's Kingpin patch that fixes a number of bugs, and adds some other improvements too (see the readme).

Here is a very nice looking death match map made by Hypov8 many years ago.
KPDM1 Quaked is KPDM1 remade in the Quake 3 style. It uses mostly Quake style textures and the big thing is that there are no ladders (as there are none in Quake 3 ). So it uses platforms and stairs instead. It also includes some Quake sounds. Overall it looks great.

Another fun game that went for many hours.
Fredz has uploaded the most recent version of Acc's Build Map Converter.
It is an utility program which allows you to convert Build Games' maps to Kingpin. Games include Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior and Blood etc.
He is also thinking about adding support for Doom maps.

Occasionaly someone asks me how to install Kingpin on a Macintosh. I have to say I don't know but I point them to a page that explains how to do it. It involves installing an application called Crossover.

It's amazing what you can find on the net (usually when you are looking for something else). Recently I found a Kingpin Playguide in my Favourite PC game magazine PC Powerplay. It seems old issues are archived online.
Just click on a page to turn to the next one and use zoom in and zoom out.

The other day I was showing Lyph some death match maps set in castles and found one I hadn't seen in yonks :)
The map is called Knights-Castle-1 and was made or converted by {GT}Knight. I have played it in the past but not for many years and can't remember it much.
The maps is a small to medium sized map set in a castle. It uses all custom textures but is missing a custom sound (quake.wav). It also features some teleports.
Update 11th April Zeppelin has sent in the missing Quake.wav so I have added it to he zipfile and uploaded the updated one.
There seems to be enough weapons and items and should be ok for a blast.

When Solider of Fortune (SoF) was released in 2000 many Kingpin players and mappers left KP to go play SoF. As a result several Kingpin maps were converted to Sof.
While I prefer the originals it's always good to see some Kingpin crop up in other games.
We have a lot of the Kingpin maps that were converted SoF here.
Btw there, like Kingpin, there are still some ppl that play SoF online you just need to download the Soldier of Fortune Community Edition (search it).
