Fantastic game today - a long game and a good crowd. What more could you ask for :)
The Crash Squad client files contain all the maps that were originally released with the mod but there have been several other maps made for it that are all included in a map pack.
The map pack contains thirteen maps (eleven really as there are two versions of two of the maps). Monkey Harris is adding a couple of the maps to his Crash mod server so we will be playing them at the game on Thursday.

The Kingpin demo is now eighteen years old as it was releasaed on 22nd March 1999. It's finally an adult just like its rating :P
I'm sure we all remember the first time we saw it thinking wow what the heck is this it's awesome :)

Hmn has released a pak file that features all the Kingpin textures modified.
The zipfile contains two pak files - zzzpak1 is the modified textures and zzzpak2 is a different console background.
You can download the file from his webpage here.
If you just want to try the modified textures extract zzzpak1 to your Kingpin folder or extract both if you want to try the new console background as well.
You will need to rename them as Kingpin only recognises pak1, pak2 names not zzzpak1, zzzpak2.
I suggest renaming them to pak2, pak3 or which ever pak numbers you dont have in your kingpin folder up to pak9.
Gulag is the third episode of a five part single player series for Kingpin made by Wheelbarrow.
The Story: There is a big meeting of gang members from all over the country planned in an old dis-used internment camp (gulag) in one of the Eastern Block countries. The gangs figure this is the only way to have such a meeting and not get interrupted by the free world authorities. You have followed the gang members over there (because you're psychotic), to this 'gulag' on the outskirts of a large Eastern BLock city, where you're determined to take out as many as you can.
Check the gulag.txt readme in the zipfile for a lot more information.
Wheelbarrow made a story that spreads over five episodes. The order in which to play them is Funeral, The Chase, Gulag, Reprisal and Sanctuary.

Installing & Loading : Unzip the file into your Kingpin/main/maps directory.
Create a desktop shortcut for Kingpin and then add the following:-
+set developer 1 + skill 1 +map gulag
skill can be 0 = easy, 1 = normal, 2 = hard.
The Kingpin downloads page at Gamefront just hit 50,000 visits. It took a long time but they have had nearly 8,000 in the last month since I started uploading Kingpin files there.

It seems the QTracker Master is not currently picking up Kingpin public dedicated servers if they use kingpin.exe in their desktop shortcut.
So you need to use the KPDED2 Enhanced Kingpin Server fiiles and then your server will show up in Gamespylite.
You just extract the kpded2 file to your Kingpin folder and then update your server desktop shortcut to use kpded2.exe instead of kingpin.exe.
Plus KPDED2 fixes many bugs and also allows players to download client files from the server for mods that use cleint files.
Just read the comprehensive readme or all the improvements and server config options.

If you don't have the client files you can download them from here.
Just unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct location (kingpin/crash).
If you already have the old version of the Crash files installed you can still use them but you should open the Kingpin/crash folder and rename the pak9 file to pak1. The reason being is that the new client files are downloadable from the server and are in a pak1 file. If you don't already have a pak1 file in your crash folder it will download it.

Take note that there is a team radio where you can send simple command messages to your team (cover me, follow me, I see them etc). To access the radio and select a command press F3.

Here is a fun little Bagman map called Team Ice beta made by Whoop Ass.
It's a Bagman map set in an Ice Hockey Arena. The bases are in the changing rooms and the money drop is in the Rink.

I saw Zeppelin(FnR) in M's Kingpin chat room today. While he didn't say anything it was still good to see him there.
He used to map for Kingpin and one of the maps he made is called Dead and Broken.
It's a smallish map, with custom textures, some custom sounds, has 16 spawn points, and was originally made for Quake2 by Jester.
It has one of every weapon, although HMG is much harder to get at than other weapons and you will need to find a button to get to a secret area where the cooling mod is.
