Date : Sunday 12th March
Time : 21.00 (9pm) UK Time
Check the world clock to see what time it is where you are when it is 9pm UK time here.
All welcome to come along for a game :)
Wow can you believe that is is 18 years since the famous 10 second Kingpin Ganghit video was released (10th March 1999).
We host a Sonik mappack here at Kingpin.info but it hadn't been updated for many years and didn't include several of his later maps.
I have added several maps and (hopefully) now the mappack contains all of Sonik's death match and Bagman maps.
Sonik released so many good maps I considered it important to collect them all into his mappack.
You can download the updated Sonik mappack from here.
Just unzip/extract all the files to your Kingpin folder.
Yes we have a Steam Group and it's called, believe it or not, Kingpin.info :D
If you use Steam why not join our Steam group.
Check it out here.
The Thursday game this week is going to be the Crash Squad mod. This will be the first time we have played this mod in a long time (other than the practice session on Tuesday).
Game details:-
Server : Newskool Crash Squad
IP : 37.247.117.19:31515
Date : Thursday 9th March
Time : 9pm UK time
Maxclients : 18
You can download the new client files from here.
Just unzip the files to your Kingpin folder and they will be placed in the correct location (kingpin/crash).
Please note that if you already have the current Crash client files then you will still be able to connect to the Crash server.
However you should rename the pak9 file that is in your crash folder to pak1.
The reason being is that the new client files are downloadable from the server and are in a pak1 file. If you don't already have a pak1 file in your crash folder it will download it.
This is a great and fun mod with a reasonable sized crowd so I hope you can all make it for a game :)
Btw the client files contain comprehensive info which I have also uploaded as a webpage here.
Take note that there is a team radio where you csan send simple command mesaages to your team (cover me, follow me, I see them etc). To access the radio and seelct a command press F3.
Another long session today with a good crowd :)
Hopefully we will play the Crash mod again soon.
Gamefront is a gaming file resource site. It features addons for many great games both old and new.
It was in limbo for a while but it's back now under new management.
Of course it features a Kingpin page where you can download Kingpin files. It only has about 1% of the amount of files that Kingpin Info has at this stage but at least it's another site where people can go and downlaod Kingpin files.
IMO, the more sites that feature Kingpin and the more people that know about it the better. If people visit the Kingpin page at Gamefront and download the files it then keeps Kingpin up amonst the most popular games.
Gamefront has a 'Popular' games tab and quite often Kingpin features on the front page of popular games. There is always the chance that when people see there is still a small, active Kingpin community, still releasing addons for the game we might end up with a few more players online.
It's also possible that someone who doesn't know about Kingpin Info could post a map or mod or skin etc there that we don't have :)
Anyway go check out the Gamefront Kingpin page here.
Fredz has found the French version of the Kingpin manual and has uploaded it.
You can download it from here.
Dont forget we also host the French Kingpin sounds. This replaces all the English audio with French.
You can download the French sounds from here.
Team Enigma is an older Bagman map made by Sandman.
It is a small to medium sized map that is an old style Bagman map. That means that there are switches, located in rooms near the safe, to open the safes, and the weapons and items are spread throughout the map instead of in weapon caches in the bases. It's an urban style map.
You can download Team Enigma from here.
There will be a little Crash mod practice game on Tuesday 9pm UK time.
The reason being is because the game this Thursday is going to be the Crash Squad Mod and many ppl have not played this mod before and others have but not for many years.
As such I suggest you join me in the Newskool Crash server on Tuesday from 9pm UK time for an hour or so , so that we can get a little practice in.
If you already have the current Crash client files then you need to open kingpin/crash and rename the pak9 there to pak1. Then you are good to go.
If you don’t have the crash client files you can download the latest ones from
here.
Just unzip to your Kingpin folder.
The client files contain comprehensive info which I have also uploaded as a webpage
here.
Crash mod is similar to counter strike. There are 2 scenarios - bombing scenario and VIP escort. So some maps are bombing and some maps are VIP escort.
Each map goes for several rounds with each round taking a few minutes.
So the team wins the map that has won the most rounds.
When you die you don’t respawn until the next round starts.
So we could play at least one bombing map and one VIP map.
The maps are large and will need to be learned (or re-learned).
Once you get the hang of it the mod is awesome IMO.
Anyway I will be in the Crash server on Tuesday 9pm for an hour or so and hopefully you can join me :)
